However occasionally it dips down to 600rpms and wants to stall. No lean sneeze or anything this is not a carb issue. All throttle plates are closed at idle.

It far too long a procedure to do here. You DO NOT adjust the throttle cable to set idle speed or anything related to it. It is a throttle cable adjustment only, again, that is covered in the manual.

May 8, 2021 · Hi. I have a 1985 Johnson 100 hp commercial outboard. The model number is J100WMLCOC. I cannot find the wot timing spec anywhere. I have looked many times on the net and here with no luck. What I am seeing is cranking at wot with the timer base rubber stop hitting it's stop is 21 degrees. Of course at wot this should equate to 25 degrees.

To set the timing on that 115hp Evinrude, have the s/plugs out, and have the throttle at full, set that timer base under the flywheel tight against the rubber stop on the end of the full spark timer advance stop screw (wire it against that stop if necessary). Rig a spark tester and have the spark gap set to 7/16".

Then push the magneto control arm all the way until it hits the full advance stop. Look up underneath the edge of the flywheel and see if mark "a" on the flywheel is lined up with mark "b" on the timing plate base. That is full advanced.
